American Cars Suck Balls!!!
So I finally got off my ass and took my truck in to have the transmission checked out. Of course I hoped it would be something simple, but knew from web research that the whole thing was probably trashed. And yep, it was trashed. The quote for a new one was $1900+ tax. Talked the guy into $1600 cash total. Better, but still sucks balls. I can think of a zillions things I'd rather pay for.
Best part is that it only has 61k miles on it! How the hell does a tranny blow up after only 61k miles? The dude at the shop said it always happens to the Explorers and he actually stocks the transmission because he sees so many. How awesome is that?
That's the last American car I ever buy. Never had anything but trouble. Buy American? Nope. Bye American is more appropriate. Sticking with German and Japanese cars. We can beat them in wars, but can't make a car to beat theirs.

Quit your whining.
My Expolder has over 250,000 miles on it with the original tranny.
Which means the thing will probably blow all to shit this weekend when I drive over for the Claw.
Have fun at the claw. Doing a duathalon with the wife Sunday in Portland. 30k TT. It's going to suck to get beat by dudes in speedos.
